414 Locust St. follows the downtown garage schedule and is often the simpler weekend choice.
Festival strategy: for Canada Day, Ribfest or another major waterfront event, use event-specific transit/shuttle instructions. Downtown parking can reach peak capacity even when normal rules would otherwise make a lot attractive.

Lot 16 — 515 John St.: there is no parking machine. Payment during the weekday paid period must be completed through HONK Mobile.
Move the Car and Keep Eligible Unused Parking Time
Burlington’s transfer rule is unusually useful for people making several downtown stops.
Street → street
Remaining paid time can follow the vehicle to another eligible paid downtown street space.
City lot/garage → City lot
Remaining paid time may transfer between eligible City paid lots and the garage.
You must move the vehicle: this feature is for a different parking space. The new location’s time limit, signs and restrictions still control.

City guidance expressly states overnight parking is free at 414 Locust St.
Downtown municipal lots
Winter overnight parking is allowed, but snow clearing can leave the vehicle plowed in.
Regular City street
Outside downtown paid streets, Burlington normally has a five-hour limit and prohibits parking from 1–6 a.m. unless exempted or otherwise signed.
Exemption limits: on-street exemptions can cover the five-hour/overnight rule for up to 15 days per calendar year per plate, but they are not valid on pay streets and may be suspended for snow removal or road maintenance.

Free City parking
A valid Accessible Parking Permit can be used for free parking at eligible municipal spaces for the maximum permitted duration.
Permit follows the person
The permit is issued to the person, not the vehicle. The permit holder must be travelling in the vehicle.

City guidance allows eligible permit users to park in another legal City space without payment, subject to the allowed maximum.

The access aisle beside an accessible parking space must remain clear for mobility devices and vehicle lifts.

Four-hour EV rule: only an EV may occupy the designated stall, it must be plugged in, and it must be moved within four hours. Burlington lists a $47 ticket for non-compliance.
