How to Pay for York University Parking With HONK
York University supports HONK Mobile for daily parking at Keele and Glendon campuses. In addition, HonkTAP lets visitors pay through supported signs without downloading the app.
However, choosing the wrong zone or entering an incorrect licence plate can create a parking problem. Therefore, check every detail before confirming payment.
First, check the signs and confirm that the space allows visitor parking at your arrival time.
Next, use the zone displayed on the lot sign. Alternatively, scan the available HonkTAP sign.

HONK may send a reminder shortly before your session expires. Nevertheless, an app reminder does not override a lot’s posted restrictions. Therefore, return to your vehicle before any applicable time limit ends.
York University Event Parking
Event parking can work differently from ordinary visitor parking. For example, graduation ceremonies, campus open houses and major sports events may increase demand for nearby garages. In addition, organizers may reserve certain areas or provide special parking instructions.

York provides accessible parking spaces across its campus parking system. However, these spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, check the location and access route before traveling.
A vehicle using an accessible parking space must display the appropriate Ontario Accessible Parking Placard. In addition, York requires a valid parking permit, daily pass or parking stub. Consequently, the placard alone does not replace the parking payment requirement.

EV Charging at York University
Electric vehicle charging is available at several York University parking locations. For example, Keele campus charging sites include Arboretum Lane Garage, Student Services Garage, York Lanes Garage and Founders Road East.
The current charging rate is $3 per hour for the first four hours. After that, the rate increases to $15 per hour. Therefore, move your vehicle when charging is complete so another driver can use the station.
Importantly, EV charging fees are separate from ordinary parking charges. As a result, you must also have a valid parking permit or paid session for the lot where you charge.
Evening, Weekend and Overnight Parking
Evening parking rules depend on the lot. Since May 1, 2026, Keele garages have used the regular $2.50-per-half-hour rate, up to the published maximum. Therefore, do not rely on an older evening flat-rate offer.
Northwest Gate Middle has a specific visitor schedule. Its designated visitor parking is available after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and throughout weekends. However, special events may change ordinary access arrangements.
